Rimba Raid Taman Negara 2023
Blessed with good weather, the Event ran as planned, great racing taking place over the weekend. This Event saw for the first time solid support from a number of government agencies, with MyCEB, MOTAC Pahang Office, and Tourism Pahang playing key roles together with title sponsor Givi, lending a truly spectacular look to the two main Event sites, ILMU and Rimba Valley Motocamp.
RRKT2022 was also the main draw as the climax of the Givi World Explorer Tour, where high networth individuals and influential motorcycle personalities tour Malaysia on big motorcycles. A total of 23 foreign nationalities came for the Event, out of which 16 flags saw the start line.
The adventure bike dual-purpose race categories drew a full entry of 150 racers, mostly amateurs, with a third of the lot were serious racers. With only 47 finishers, RRKT2022 has lived up to its reputation as the toughest race of its kind in the region. Six riders required minor medical attention by our official medical team, complimented by medical teams from Angkatan Pertahanan Awam and Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat.
The Sunday Enduro Race also saw 160 racers from three classes battling their way in the jungles of Janda Baik. Many ended the race enquiring when will the next Rimba Raid event to be held, a show of their support for this Event.
RRKT2022 also saw a significant increase in spectator count due to accessibility of the event sites 45 minutes away from the city centre. Â Economic spin-off to Kuala Tahan needs mention, with chalets reporting full occupancy, food stalls working round the clock and a big number of local riders employed as race crew and track marshals.
As the Organiser, the success of RRKT2022 means even greater pressure to make next year’s event bigger, better and more spectacular than the last one, more so with its recognition as one of the calendar event of Visit Malaysia Year 2020.
YBhg. Dato’ Haslina binti Abdul Hamid, Timbalan Ketua Setiausaha (Pelancongan), MOTAC was kind enough to grace the prize presentation ceremony accompanied by YBhg. Dato’ Hj.
